Role Purpose
Signify Research is a specialist healthtech market intelligence firm, providing data-driven insights to the healthcare technology industry, investors, and health system leaders globally. We are seeking an experienced Fractional CMO to lead our marketing function during a defined period of planned senior resource change.
This is a hands-on, player-manager role. You will provide strategic marketing leadership while remaining operationally engaged, managing an external agency partner alongside a Marketing Manager, maintaining momentum across our campaign programme and strategic project portfolio. You will represent marketing at ExCo level and act as Brand Guardian throughout the engagement.
The ideal candidate brings deep B2B marketing experience in Market Intelligence, Advisory and Professional Services (or similar sectors), genuine HubSpot expertise, and the credibility to operate at C-suite level in an ambitious, specialist SME.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Own the annual marketing strategy aligned to commercial objectives.
- Lead Signify Research's structured ~8-12 week thematic campaign programme (analyst team, sales and leadership involvement; 10+ assets per cycle across LinkedIn, YouTube, email, press and sales enablement).
- Report performance to the CRO and ExCo.
- Act as Brand Guardian across all output.

Agency and Team Management
- Brief, onboard and manage the external agency partner against agreed scope.
- Manage and develop the in-house Marketing Manager.
- Set and monitor KPIs across internal and agency delivery.
- Ensure marketing operations remain consistent, commercially focused and brand-compliant throughout the cover period, improving outputs where possible.

Digital, CRM and Technology
- Oversee HubSpot (CRM, email, workflows, landing pages, attribution), deep expertise is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Maintain oversight of WordPress website, Google Analytics and the marketing KPI and measurement framework.

Strategic Project Delivery
- Maintain momentum on priority 2026–27 projects, including: SEO/GEO website rebuild, ABM programme, brand refresh, customer journey and experience mapping & improvements, sales enablement materials and revenue attribution tracking.

Commercial and Stakeholder Engagement
- Align marketing to strategic commercial goals around subscription, advisory and custom research revenue.
- Partner with sales on pipeline and ABM for Key Account growth.
- Engage senior leadership, analysts and external partners as required to maintain commercial alignment.
Person Specification: Skills and Experience
Technical Skills
- Deep HubSpot expertise across CRM, email marketing, workflows, landing pages, lead scoring and attribution, this is a non-negotiable baseline requirement.
- Strong digital marketing capability across SEO/GEO, content marketing, YouTube, email and LinkedIn.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Google Analytics and B2B marketing analytics and attribution.
- Ability to build, own and communicate a KPI framework and marketing performance reporting structure.
Leadership and Communication
- Strong stakeholder management at ExCo level; confident presenting marketing performance and strategy at board level.
- Proven ability to lead small teams and hold agency partners to account in an SME environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in British English.
Experience
- 10+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 3–5 years at CMO, VP Marketing or equivalent level, preferably gained in a fractional, interim or portfolio capacity.
- Background in market intelligence, data, research, professional services or healthtech strongly preferred; candidates from adjacent B2B sectors with the ability to rapidly develop sector fluency will be considered.
- Demonstrated success running structured, multi-channel B2B campaigns with measurable pipeline and revenue contribution.
- Fluent in B2B subscription and advisory business models; experienced aligning marketing to sales pipeline goals, supporting ABM programmes, and demonstrating how content drives pipeline, retention and upsell.
- Able to translate complex, technical research outputs into authoritative, sector-specific content while maintaining a consistent brand voice across all channels and agency output.
