Fractional CMO – B2B Building Services

Fractional Leaders Group

Doers, not consultants.

We’re looking for an experienced Fractional CMO to work with one of our clients: an established UK manufacturer and supplier of building-services products, selling to contractors, consultants and specifiers on projects across the UK.

The business is ready for its next stage of growth and needs a senior marketing leader who can build pipeline, generate demand and help win new customers.

This is a genuinely hands-on role. You’ll join the leadership team for 1–2 days a week, working regularly on site near Gatwick, taking ownership of marketing from strategy through to execution. You’ll build the plan, run campaigns, work closely with sales and do the work yourself where needed. You get stuck in with the client; we handle everything else.

What the role involves

  • Owning lead generation across both sides of the market: influencing specification with consultants and engineers, and winning orders and new accounts with contractors
  • Working closely with sales to turn leads into customers and ensure marketing and sales are aligned around the same opportunities
  • Sharpening the company’s positioning so the market clearly understands why it is different
  • Getting more commercial value from existing marketing assets, technical content and product expertise
  • Using the channels that work in this market: LinkedIn, search, email, project intelligence, trade events and technical content
  • Using AI to work faster and smarter across project/account research, content, campaign creation and reporting
  • Reporting to the leadership team against pipeline generated, specifications won, new accounts and revenue

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
