Role Description

The Fractional CTO / Full-Stack Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the technical vision while actively building and maintaining the core systems that support Foundana Capital’s portfolio of Shopify brands. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing full-stack solutions, integrating Shopify and related e-commerce tools, and creating internal dashboards and automation to streamline operations. The role oversees architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and best practices for security, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities also include collaborating with product, operations, and marketing teams to prioritize features, manage technical projects, and ensure that technology initiatives align with business goals. The Fractional CTO / Full-Stack Engineer will guide vendor selection, coordinate with external developers when needed, and establish processes for continuous improvement and monitoring of production systems.

  • Strong Software Development skills, including full-stack web engineering and experience with modern frameworks and APIs.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills for planning, prioritizing, and delivering technical initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in IT Strategy, including defining roadmaps, setting technical priorities, and aligning technology with business goals.
  • Proficiency in Architecture, with the ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems for e-commerce and internal tools.
  • Product Development skills, including gathering requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions, and iterating based on feedback.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms; familiarity with analytics, automation, and third-party integrations is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
