Job Description
One day per week initially, moving to two or three · £700–£900 per day · Immediate start
We're recruiting a hands-on Fractional Finance Director for a UK cryptoasset business preparing for authorisation under the FCA's new regime.
Before you read further, the most important thing about this role: it is not a management appointment. There is no finance team to lead, and day-to-day accounting and FP&A already sit with an outsourced provider. What the business needs is one qualified, regulator-credible practitioner who will personally build and operate the framework governing the assets backing what the company issues — and carry it through to authorisation.
You'll be writing the policies, building the reconciliations, modelling the liquidity, preparing the regulatory submissions, and sitting in front of the FCA. In spreadsheets and documents, not reviewing other people's.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll own
- The reserve framework: composition, adequacy, segregation, custody
- Policies and procedures, drafted by you
- Reconciliation processes that evidence segregation
- Liquidity modelling and stress testing against redemption demand
- Regulatory submissions and supporting schedules
- Treasury, counterparty and custodian relationships
- Board and investor reporting on the regulated side
Who fits
A qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) who has been the finance function in a small FCA-regulated business — payments, e-money, cryptoasset or regulated fintech. Often one of the first few employees. Ideally you've taken a firm through authorisation and did the work yourself.
Also well suited: prudential or regulatory practitioners now working independently who still do their own delivery. ICAAP, capital adequacy and liquidity reporting translate closely to reserve adequacy work.

Who doesn't
If you're building a portfolio of board seats, if your recent experience is directing teams across jurisdictions, or if your pitch is FP&A — this won't work, and the client will spot it in the first conversation. We'd rather say so now.
The opportunity
The UK cryptoasset regime is new and very few people have built regulated finance infrastructure inside it. This is a credential as much as an engagement. It starts at one day a week because that's where the business is today, not because that's the ceiling.
Application
Apply with your CV and a short note on three things: the regulated business where you personally built finance or safeguarding infrastructure, what you produced yourself rather than reviewed, and your availability.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
