Fractional Finance Director | Food Manufacturing | Manchester
We are partnering with an ambitious and growing food manufacturing business to appoint an experienced Fractional Finance Director to work closely with the Managing Director and help shape the next phase of the company's growth.
This is a strategic appointment where you will play a pivotal role in preparing the business for a successful sale within the next five years.
Working as a trusted advisor to the MD, you will provide commercial and financial leadership, helping to drive performance, strengthen the finance function, and ensure the business is well positioned for future investment and exit.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the Managing Director to deliver the company's long-term growth strategy
- Develop and implement a financial roadmap to support the business through to a successful exit
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
- Deliver commercial insight and analysis to improve profitability and support decision-making
- Build robust financial reporting, controls and governance to create an exit-ready business
- Develop meaningful KPI reporting and performance dashboards
- Support funding requirements, banking relationships and investor conversations where required
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and increase business value
- Mentor and develop the existing finance team while creating a high-performance finance function
- Work collaboratively with operational and commercial teams to support continued growth

About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Previous experience operating as a Finance Director or CFO within food manufacturing or FMCG
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience working within owner-managed, entrepreneurial or private equity-backed businesses
- A proven track record of driving business growth and improving financial performance
- Experience preparing a business for investment, acquisition or sale would be highly advantageous
- Hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a growing business environment
