Fractional Internal Auditor

Start Date: ASAP

Fractional / Ad Hoc Contract | Inside IR35 | £600–£700 per day

Duration: 6 Months

Location: London | Office-Based

We’re partnering with a growing insurance organisation to appoint an experienced Fractional Internal Auditor for an initial six-month engagement. Operating across three established brands, the organisation is preparing for a programme of audits scheduled over the next six to nine months. Working on a flexible, ad hoc basis, you’ll help strengthen audit readiness across the group by reviewing existing controls, identifying potential gaps and supporting the implementation of any necessary improvements.

The Opportunity

As Fractional Internal Auditor, you’ll provide independent, practical assurance across the organisation’s internal controls, processes and documentation. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance and Operations, you’ll assess current arrangements, identify areas of exposure and ensure each brand has the appropriate evidence, documentation and controls in place ahead of its audit. This is a hands-on engagement suited to someone who can quickly understand a complex, multi-brand environment and translate audit findings into clear, commercially sensible recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in supporting audit readiness across the organisation by:

  • Reviewing existing internal controls, processes and supporting documentation across three brands.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of current controls and governance arrangements.
  • Identifying control gaps, operational risks and areas requiring improvement ahead of external or regulatory audits.
  • Ensuring appropriate audit evidence and documentation is complete, accurate and readily available.
  • Providing clear, practical recommendations to address identified issues.
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of required remediation activity.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance and Operations.
  • Providing flexible, ongoing support as each brand progresses through its respective audit timetable.
  • Communicating findings clearly to senior stakeholders and providing visibility of audit-readiness progress.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
