Fractional Lead Graph Engineer
Location: London
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: Fractional, 12 days per week
About The Company:
Our client is an early-stage technology business developing an innovative financial intelligence platform. Its product will connect complex operational and financial information through a sophisticated knowledge graph, supporting real-time analysis, financial integrity, and the detection of risk and anomalies.
The business is now building the technical foundations of the platform and is looking for an experienced graph and distributed systems specialist who can provide senior-level expertise on a fractional basis.
The Role:
The Fractional Lead Graph Engineer will design, build, and optimize the core financial knowledge graph. Working closely with the founder and wider technical team, the successful candidate will shape a scalable graph architecture capable of bringing together unstructured operational data and structured financial transactions.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can make sound architectural decisions, solve demanding performance challenges, and translate complex financial structures into maintainable graph models and data pipelines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
