Location: Remote

Working Pattern: Fractional – approximately 6–8 hours per week

Environment: Early-Stage FinTech

About The Opportunity

Our client is an early-stage FinTech business developing technology designed to improve access to financial services for businesses operating internationally.

The company is entering an important stage of its development and is building out its leadership and functional capability as it moves towards greater commercial readiness and growth.

As part of this next phase, the business is looking for a Fractional Lead Marketing Manager who can take meaningful ownership of its developing marketing function.

This is not a traditional marketing-management position within an established department.

You will be joining an early-stage organisation where positioning, messaging, channels, content and marketing processes are still developing. You will therefore need to be equally comfortable thinking strategically and personally executing the work required to turn that strategy into activity.

The opportunity is particularly suited to an ambitious marketing professional who is ready for broader functional ownership, enjoys building rather than inheriting, and wants the opportunity to demonstrate their ability within an early-stage FinTech environment.

Further details regarding the engagement and participation structure will be discussed directly with candidates progressing through the process.

Application – Mandatory Qualifying Questions

Please submit your CV together with a cover letter. Within your cover letter, you must answer each of the mandatory qualifying questions below.

  • What experience do you have within B2B marketing, FinTech, financial services or another complex technology environment?
  • Please provide an example of a marketing strategy, campaign or go-to-market initiative that you personally helped create and execute. What did you personally do and what was the outcome?
  • What experience do you have developing positioning, messaging and content for complex B2B products or services?
  • Please provide an example of marketing activity that you personally executed rather than delegated to a team or agency.
  • What experience do you have generating measurable commercial outcomes such as qualified pipeline, customer engagement, partnerships, adoption or revenue?
  • What experience do you have working within an early-stage or resource-conscious organisation where you were required to operate without a large established marketing team or budget?
  • Do you have experience within FinTech, payments, banking, lending, trade finance or another regulated financial-services environment? Please explain.
  • This opportunity requires approximately 6–8 hours per week. Can you consistently commit to this level of involvement alongside your other professional commitments?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity. You should expect to personally execute activity rather than simply develop strategy for others to deliver.

What We're Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you have:

  • Strong B2B marketing experience
  • Experience taking meaningful ownership of marketing activity
  • Strong positioning and messaging capability
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience creating and executing marketing plans
  • Strong commercial instincts
  • Experience working with senior leaders or founders
  • Confidence marketing technically or financially complex propositions
  • Experience operating within early-stage or high-growth environments
  • The ability to prioritise effectively when resources are limited
  • The willingness to remain hands-on while taking increasing functional ownership
  • The ability to make meaningful impact within approximately 6–8 hours per week

Experience within FinTech, financial services, payments, banking, B2B technology or another regulated environment would be particularly valuable.

We are more interested in demonstrable capability, ownership and results than job title or corporate seniority.

Engagement Structure

This is a flexible, fractional engagement of approximately 6–8 hours per week within an early-stage FinTech venture.

It is designed for someone who understands the nature of participating in an early-stage business and is comfortable with a structure centred on longer-term participation in company growth rather than a conventional package at this stage.

The role can therefore be undertaken alongside other compatible professional commitments.

Full details of the participation structure will be discussed with candidates progressing through the process.
