About The Fortia Group

The Fortia Group is a boutique sell-side M&A advisory firm specializing exclusively in eCommerce-led consumer brands in the lower middle market. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with an office in London, UK, we bring bulge bracket standards to founders and brand owners preparing for exit, combining institutional-grade deal execution with deep eCommerce operating expertise. Our platform includes a growing thought leadership franchise built around our webinar series, monthly valuation report, YouTube channel, and an annual in-person Acquirers Conference.

We are at an exciting stage of growth, and we are looking for a proven marketing and business development operator to come in and be a genuine difference maker in a fast-moving M&A landscape.

The Role

This is a hands-on execution role, not a high-level strategy position. You will turn priorities agreed with the Managing Partner into consistent weekly activity across marketing and business development.

The division of responsibility is clear. You will build and operate the firm's commercial engine: prospect lists, outbound campaigns, referral partner development, content distribution, and pipeline reporting. The Managing Partner and senior team develop the key relationships, lead sales conversations, and convert opportunities. You will not be expected to close mandates or lead discovery calls, but you will directly support prospecting, referral development, follow-up, campaign execution, and pipeline generation.

The engagement is 10 to 15 hours per week, ideally spread across the week to maintain cadence on iterative workstreams. Additional hours for major events or defined projects can be agreed separately. Expect a heavier lift upfront as you build systems and structure; over time, well-built automation and AI-driven workflows should carry more of the execution.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound and Pipeline Generation

  • Build and maintain prospect lists, and segment contacts into cohorts within our CRM (Attio)
  • Prepare, launch, and iterate outbound email campaigns with a data-led approach to targeting, messaging, and conversion
  • Coordinate follow-ups so opportunities progress and nothing falls through the cracks

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Referral Partner Program

  • Build and operate a structured referral partner program (fractional CFOs, agencies, and adjacent advisors), a top priority for the firm
  • Maintain a cadence of partner touchpoints and hold the senior team accountable to follow-ups

Content Distribution

  • Distribute our webinar series, monthly valuation report, blog content, and thought leadership across LinkedIn, YouTube, and email. See a recent example of our valuation webinar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz_dIBXZRdk
  • Repurpose existing content into snippets and collateral that support outbound and lead generation
  • Create and market deal testimonials and case studies that evidence the firm's track record

Sales Enablement

  • Maintain and improve core pitch materials, firm credentials, and positioning across touchpoints
  • Implement process and structure around how we present the firm to prospects and partners

Reporting and Systems

  • Introduce clear weekly reporting on activity, results, and pipeline visibility
  • Improve the structure and use of our CRM, and leverage our stack, including Attio and Rogo alongside other AI tools, to increase the quality, speed, and sophistication of output

Annual Acquirers Conference

  • Our flagship in-person event (https://thefortiagroup.com/2026-the-acquiror-conference/) is scoped as a separate, expanded project with additional hours agreed in advance, as end-to-end event delivery does not fit within the standard weekly allocation

First Three Months

The initial priority is a small number of measurable objectives:

  • Improve the structure and use of Attio
  • Establish repeatable outbound campaigns
  • Build a structured referral partner program
  • Increase the distribution and commercial impact of our existing content
  • Introduce clear weekly reporting and follow-up discipline

How Success Is Measured

  • CRM data quality and structure
  • Consistency of campaign execution
  • Referral partner program development
  • Qualified meetings generated for the senior team
  • Content engagement and reach
  • Pipeline visibility and reporting discipline

M&A sales cycles are long and non-linear, so performance will not be assessed solely on short-term lead or mandate volumes. We are looking for consistent, well-executed activity that compounds.

About You

  • A hands-on, data-driven operator with a bias for systems, automation, and measurement over generalist brand marketing
  • Proven experience across outbound email campaigns, content distribution, and business development support
  • Experience managing freelancers and external resource to deliver quality work on deadline
  • Hyper-organized, with strong project management instincts and attention to detail
  • Able to digest priorities from founder-level discussions and independently execute across platforms
  • Comfortable with a startup mentality: fast pace, shifting priorities, and hands-on delivery
  • AI proficiency is mandatory. We have implemented multiple AI tools and are adopting AI across the firm at a rapid pace, and we expect a genuine appetite to build further sophistication into commercial workflows through AI
  • Investment banking, M&A, or professional services experience or exposure is preferable but not mandatory
  • eCommerce and consumer brands experience or exposure is preferable but not mandatory

Why Join

  • A rare opportunity to build and operate the commercial engine of a growing boutique M&A firm
  • Direct exposure to the founding team and to live M&A transactions in the eCommerce sector
  • Genuine scope to build process from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work
  • A fast-paced, ambitious environment where difference makers are recognized

If you are genuinely interested, please send me a short LinkedIn InMail covering why you feel suited to this role, your availability and typical contract rate, and a specific example of a marketing or business development system you have built or operated. Applications submitted without an InMail may not be prioritized.
