Hello, we’re Pret

Proud makers of freshly made food, organic coffee and big ideas. Across 750+ shops and 20+ countries, our teams are shaping the future of Pret through innovation, inclusion, great customer service and a shared passion for doing the right thing. We’re growing fast on our mission to be the hospitality employer of choice everywhere we operate – so it’s an exciting time to hop on board.

Growing good things

Pret is where passionate, hardworking, wonderful people (like you!) find what they need to shine. Growth is at the heart of everything we do – from supporting our people to grow in confidence and skills to pursue their unique paths, to figuring out how to make our food and coffee even more delicious and accessible.

What We’re Looking For

The Franchise Business Consultant role sits within the UK Franchise team; a group who are passionate team players, who want to drive our partner’s success, develop Pret’s franchising capability & bring joy to our customers every day.

The role will have three core priorities:

  • Intimately understand your partners P&L and estate nuances (Standalone vs Hub & Spoke); using this to guide your support as you work collaboratively with them and the wider Pret business to maximise profitability and ROI,
  • Support the UK&I Franchise Director in developing and executing our UK growth strategy. This will include identifying new shop and commercial opportunities, working cross functionality to unlock and embed them, and work with Commercial Finance to measure performance.

As the first point of contact for your partners, you will visit their UK & Irish estates frequently (announced and unannounced) and work with them to understand their needs, priorities and local opportunities. The role will require you to hold yourself and our partners to the highest standards.

As we grow the UK Franchise business, you will also support the UK Franchise Director in delivering the franchise strategy and evaluate new opportunities. This will include appraising and visiting New Shop Openings (“NSOs”), map new market segments, onboard new franchise partners, shop divestments and supporting the wider team in launching new strategic opportunities e.g. Drive Thru, commercial initiatives, etc.

A developed knowledge of how franchise models differ, strong financial (and excel) literacy and a continuous drive to propel the system (Pret and our partners) forward is essential. Consequently, the role will require the successful candidate to be a self-driven and commercially minded individual with a keen eye for operational excellence who is comfortable engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Whilst you will be based out of Victoria, London the role will require significant travel across the UK & Ireland. Some overnight stays will be required due to the travel distance. Access to a car is preferred.

The role is seen as critical to the next phase of Pret's expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our partners to manage and support their shops as the key point of liaison for operational, commercial and shop-based issues and queries.
  • Use data led insights, cohort analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities to improve business performance, capture market share and drive both profitability (shop & estate).
  • Carry out monthly operational, and full quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with each franchise partner.
  • Working alongside the UK Equity Operations team, ensuring any audit questions (mystery shopper, NSF, shop review etc…) are fit for purpose in a franchise shop environment.
  • Support the UK Franchise Director in delivering the franchise strategy & evaluating new opportunities – whether NSOs, new franchise partners or expansion into new channels. This will include financial modelling, negotiating contracts and working closely with internal stakeholders to set partners and the Brand up for long term success.
  • Collaborate across 75b and the UK business to bring our plans to life.

    • Support your partners on NSOs - from submissions of their approval forms, completing an initial site assessment, working with internal teams following UKPIC approval to onboard the shop and hyper-care the team throughout training / post opening. Your responsibility would also include managing the process to issue the Licence to Trade a minimum of 24 hours before the first day of trading.
    • Support your partners throughout any divestments, leading negotiations alongside the UK&I Franchise Director, reviewing legal and commercial agreements, managing any agreed maintenance works, and working with internal teams to ensure a smooth operational and TUPE transfer of the shop(s).
    • Any other relevant projects as needed, such as Drive Thru or Back of House systems launch.
    • Monitor the Pret Hub and follow up with 75b departments on content that is not up to date, with support from the Franchise Support Coach
    • The UK Policies and Procedures manual and monitoring the content is kept up to date, with support from the relevant 75b departments and the Franchise Support Coach.
    • Franchisee initial coaching safety audits take place, supported by the safety team
    • Ensure key stakeholders inside Pret are aligned and supporting the UK Franchise business
    • Ensure the above is properly documented and communicated across the enterprise

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
