Role OVO-View

Team: OVO Solar & Heating

Location: Commutable to Bristol

Salary banding: £45,000 - £55,000

Experience: Mid-Level

Role Type: Full-Time, 12 month Fixed-Term contract

Reporting to: Head of Franchise, OVO Solar & Heating

Sponsorship: Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

This role in 3 words: Business builder, renewables geek, amazing with people

Top 3 qualities for this role: Communication, commercial acumen, technical compliance

Where you’ll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

You’ll be field based and expected to travel to physically visit Franchisees in your territory regularly (ie travel away from home almost every week). You would ideally be based close to Bristol for easy access to Midlands, South Wales and Thames Valley. As such the territory you’ll cover will be the ‘middle’ of the UK, however, whilst we’re building the business, you may be expected to travel further afield from time to time.

Everyone belongs at OVO

At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all abilities, gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.

Teamworking for the planet

Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here’s how:

We’re currently building OVO’s decarbonisation business - OVO Solar & Heating. A franchise network of multi-capability renewables installers. Set up within the security of OVO, but given the freedom of a start-up.

We want to make a real dent in the renewables landscape in the UK and we firmly believe stitching together the best of local with the benefits of a big company is the way to do that.

This role probably won't be for everyone. You’ll have to be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, able to roll your sleeves up and get stuff done and be able to deal with a high degree of change.

This role in a nutshell:

In this role, you’ll be a blend of a Growth Advisor, Performance Manager and Confidante. Franchising is a super unique business model, where relationships truly are at the heart of everything. The better your relationships with franchisees, the better they’ll perform.

Don't worry if you don’t tick all of the boxes around criteria. We’re really focused on attitude over aptitude.

Your key outcomes will be:

Franchise Growth & Development

  • Serve as the primary operational support for franchisees, acting as a trusted advisor and mentor.
  • Guide franchisees in scaling their businesses, improving productivity, and maximizing customer satisfaction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
