ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT

Capitex is a specialist Financial Crime Compliance talent provider. We are building a fraud operations team for a 6-month staffing engagement with a leading Kuwaiti bank's 24/7 digital fraud operations function.

This is a 6-month consultancy engagement with a defined delivery model: the first two months are delivered fully remotely, and from Month 3 the role relocates onsite to the bank's offices in Kuwait City for the remainder of the term. Onsite presence in Kuwait from Month 3 is a firm requirement of the role, not a preference - please only apply if you are genuinely able and willing to relocate for the onsite phase.

THE ROLE

As an L2 Fraud Analyst you will sit at the escalation tier of the bank's digital fraud operation, working under the bank's direction alongside a Capitex team including L1 analysts, a senior fraud investigator and a fraud data analyst. You will own the complex end of the alert queue: cases escalated from L1, multi-account and multi-channel patterns, and decisions that need judgement rather than playbook.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Investigate and disposition escalated fraud alerts and cases across digital channels - online and mobile banking, cards, payments and account takeover.
  • Work complex fraud typologies end to end: APP and social engineering scams, mule activity, device and session anomalies, first-party and friendly fraud.
  • Make and document risk decisions - block, restrict, release, escalate - within the bank's fraud risk appetite and SLAs.
  • Provide quality feedback and coaching input to the L1 team, and act as a referral point during your shift.
  • Feed rule and threshold tuning observations to the fraud data analyst to reduce false positives and improve detection.
  • Support case documentation to an evidential standard, including input to SAR/STR referrals where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
