Fraud Detection Expert

Position: Fraud Detection Expert

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $60–$70/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for experienced Fraud Detection, Financial Crimes Investigation, and AML professionals to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. You'll apply your expertise to develop realistic enterprise fraud scenarios, create reference investigations, and build evaluation rubrics that help AI systems accurately understand professional fraud detection and financial crimes workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise fraud scenarios involving transaction monitoring, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Create tasks covering payment fraud, account takeover, identity theft, AML, synthetic identity fraud, and merchant/card network fraud.
  • Design fraud operations scenarios using platforms such as SAS Fraud Management, Actimize, Feedzai, and enterprise case management systems.
  • Apply rules-based and ML-driven detection, network analysis, KYC/AML, and BSA compliance methodologies.
  • Produce reference investigation reports, risk models, and executive-level fraud narratives.
  • Develop rubrics that distinguish authentic enterprise fraud investigation judgment from generic textbook knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fraud detection, financial crimes investigation, or AML compliance.
  • Experience at a Fortune 500 bank, payments company, or financial institution.
  • Direct experience with large-scale fraud detection programs, investigation caseloads, or transaction monitoring systems.
  • Strong knowledge of fraud detection tools, financial crimes methodologies, and regulatory reporting.
  • Understanding of FinCEN, BSA/AML, law enforcement coordination, and case escalation.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Visa, PayPal, American Express, Wells Fargo, or similar institutions.
  • Expertise in enterprise fraud technology and transaction monitoring platforms.
  • Experience creating fraud-investigation training materials, rubrics, or case documentation.
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation, machine learning, or data annotation is a plus.

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation of $60–$70/hour.
