Fraud / Customer Operations 🚀

The Fraud team works to help keep our customers safe. You won’t just be working through alerts, but owning end-to-end investigations of complex cases and sophisticated fraud rings. Your knowledge will influence how we build our defenses and you’ll mentor more junior members of the team.

What You’ll Be Doing 🗃️

  • Complex Investigations: Lead deep-dive investigations into high-value cases and emerging, sophisticated fraud MOs (such as synthetic identities, identity theft, falsified business and financial documents, and first-party or bust-out fraud at onboarding).
  • Strategic Input: Don’t just spot a trend, propose the specific rule changes or process improvements needed to stop fraud at the front door, across application, KYC/KYB and credit decisioning controls.
  • Data Interrogation: Use Excel and SQL to analyse application and onboarding data, identifying vulnerabilities in our current controls and measuring their impact on fraud losses, approval rates and false positives.
  • Technical Ownership: Handle the most difficult "end-to-end" cases, including high-stakes customer escalations and external reporting.
  • Risk Balancing: Use expert judgment to minimise friction for legitimate customers while maintaining a hard line against bad actors.

Our Values & Culture 🌞

  • Just Pilot: We never settle for “good enough”. We pilot new ideas fast, ask questions to figure it out, and scale quickly.
  • Why Not Today? Fast is as slow as we go - speed and simplicity gives us a competitive advantage.
  • Be a Buddy: We tap in from day one to help the team, we do the right thing even if it’s hard.
  • Owners and Dates: We don’t chase people. If you own a task and agree to a date, the expectation is that it gets done.
  • Feedback: We want our employees to flourish, so we regularly provide direct and constructive feedback.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We’re Looking For 🔎

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience in a dedicated Fraud role, ideally focused on application, onboarding or credit fraud.
  • Analytical Depth: Ability to connect the dots between seemingly unrelated alerts or applications (shared devices, addresses, directors, bank details or documents) to uncover larger fraud patterns and organised networks.
  • Problem Solver: A proactive mindset, you see a gap in a process and you're already thinking of the solution.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Excel to manipulate data; SQL skills are highly preferred to help drive data-led decisions.
  • Independence: Able to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision, making high-stakes decisions confidently.
  • Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge of identity verification, document checks, KYC/KYB and fraud tooling such as device intelligence, credit bureau and open banking data. Experience with small business or SME lending or cards is a bonus.

Interview Process 🤝

  • Stage 1: 30 minute intro and values call with a Talent Partner
  • Stage 2: 60 minute technical assessment with a manager in the Fraud team (in person or virtual)
