First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) Instructor
Location: Glasgow and surrounding areas
Position Type: Freelance Instructor
Salary/Rate: £250 per day
Frequency of work: Approx. 5 courses per year
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced, clinically current, and passionate healthcare educator to deliver First Response Emergency Care L3 (FREC 3) training in the Glasgow area. This is not a tick-box training role. We are looking for an instructor who can bring emergency care to life through engaging, interactive, and experience-led learning. The successful candidate will be able to combine strong educational delivery skills with real-world clinical experience, helping learners develop the knowledge, confidence, and decision-making abilities required in prehospital and emergency care environments.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training that inspires learners and provides genuine operational context beyond the course handbook.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver regulated FREC 3 training programmes to awarding organisation standards.
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- Use real-world clinical experience to contextualise learning and enhance student understanding.
- Facilitate practical sessions, scenarios, and skills assessments.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure all course documentation and assessment records are completed accurately.
- Maintain compliance with awarding organisation, quality assurance, and centre requirements.
- Promote safe practice and professional standards throughout training delivery.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A recognised teaching or instructional qualification (such as Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Hold a suitable Assessors qualification or be already enrolled on one.
- Clinically qualified to FREC 4 or higher and be practicing regularly.
- Proven experience working within emergency, urgent, remote, military, rescue, or prehospital care environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to engage learners with varying levels of experience and confidence.
- A genuine passion for developing others and improving patient care outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to travel and accommodate yourself within the Glasgow region as required.
Desirable Requirements
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- Experience in event medical, remote medicine, expedition medicine, security sector, emergency services, military, offshore, or industrial healthcare settings.
