The role and company
We are partnering with an exciting influencer marketing agency that is looking for an experienced Freelance Account Director to join the team and lead a portfolio of key client accounts.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can quickly step into complex client relationships, provide strategic counsel and ensure the seamless delivery of high-impact influencer and social-first campaigns. Acting as a trusted partner to senior clients, you'll be responsible for translating business objectives into effective campaign strategies while bringing together strategy, creative and talent teams to deliver outstanding work.
Alongside client and campaign leadership, you'll play an important role in mentoring the wider account team, driving commercial performance and identifying opportunities to grow existing client partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Lead senior client relationships, acting as the key strategic contact across a portfolio of accounts
- Provide strategic counsel and translate client objectives into actionable influencer and social-first strategies
- Oversee influencer campaigns from initial brief and strategic development through to execution, reporting and delivery
- Ensure campaigns are aligned with client objectives, KPIs and wider brand strategy
- Work closely with strategy, creative and talent teams to develop compelling, culturally relevant influencer campaigns
- Lead quarterly business reviews and strategic planning conversations with senior client stakeholders
- Maintain exceptional standards of delivery, ensuring brand integrity and executional excellence across all work
- Lead and mentor Account Managers and Executives, overseeing workloads and priorities across multiple accounts
- Manage account profitability, budgets, forecasting and revenue growth
- Identify opportunities to organically grow existing client relationships and expand scopes of work
- Support new business proposals and pitches where required
- Champion the use of data and analytics to measure campaign performance, demonstrate ROI and inform future recommendations
- Present campaign insights, learnings and strategic recommendations confidently to senior clients

Requirements
- 6–10 years' experience within client services, marketing or communications, ideally within an influencer, social or digital agency environment
- Strong Account Director-level experience managing high-value client relationships
- Extensive experience delivering influencer, social and multi-channel campaigns
- Excellent understanding of influencer strategy, social platforms, content and emerging trends
- Confident working directly with senior client stakeholders and providing strategic counsel
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and account profitability
- Proven ability to identify opportunities for organic account growth
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing Account Managers and Executives
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable operating at pace within an entrepreneurial agency environment
- Able to hit the ground running and provide senior-level leadership within a freelance capacity
