We’re looking for Independent Assessors/IQAs
We’re seeking experienced professionals to assess the following apprenticeship standards:
- [Multi-Channel Marketer (Level 3)]
- [Marketing Assistant (Level 3)]
- [Marketing Executive (Level 4)]
- [Marketing Manager (Level 6)]
To Be Successful in This Role
You’ll need:
- A relevant qualification
- Substantial experience in the marketing sector
Assessments are conducted remotely via video calling from anywhere in the UK, requiring:
- A computer
- A webcam
- A strong internet connection
The assessment process includes:
- A portfolio-based project with questioning
- A professional discussion
This is a flexible, remote role, allowing you to choose your own hours (within office hours).
Key Responsibilities
For the Independent Quality Assessor (IQA) Role
- Review assessors’ justifications for assessment
- Confirm final grading
- Provide feedback on assessment quality, processes, and procedures

For the Assessor Role
- Mark submitted evidence using an assessment plan and grading criteria
- Make sound judgements about the apprentice’s knowledge and competence
- Provide robust feedback and arrive at an overall grade
- Attend standardisation meetings twice annually
- Work with the 1st for Awarding assessment team
- Maintain your own professional development
Ideal Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Recent, relevant experience in the marketing profession (at or above the level of the apprenticeship you’ll assess within the last 3 years, or substantial, proven experience if earlier)
- A relevant marketing qualification at least at the same level as the apprenticeship standard (or higher)
- Strong understanding of marketing practice, with the credibility to assess fairly and consistently
- Highly organised, reliable, and trustworthy
- Able to plan your own schedule and commit to agreed bookings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to attend two standardisation activities per year

Desirable
- Experience working as an Independent Assessor, coach, or tutor
- Previous grading experience
- A good understanding of apprenticeship standards
- Prevent and safeguarding training
- Assessor/IQA qualifications (e.g., CAVA, TAQA, Award in Undertaking EPA, or ** qualification A1**)
