FREELANCE AUDITOR – ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 (OIL & GAS)

Location: Edinburgh - Aberdeen corridor

Engagement: Freelance / Contract

Start Date: From late Q2 2026 onwards

Rates: Competitive day rates

As demand within the energy sector continues to grow, we are expanding our freelance auditor network in Scotland.


THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to engage experienced freelance auditors with a strong background in third-party management systems audits within the oil and gas sector. Assignments will support a range of UK-based clients, predominantly across the Edinburgh/Aberdeen region, with work commencing from late Q2 onwards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct third-party certification audits in line with ISO standards and Bureau Veritas procedures
  • Deliver audits against ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
  • Plan, lead and report audits clearly and professionally
  • Provide objective audit findings and value-adding insights to clients
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation and Bureau Veritas requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience conducting third-party audits
  • Demonstrable auditing experience against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Strong oil and gas sector experience (upstream, downstream, engineering, services or related)
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage audit schedules
  • Right to work in the UK
