Time4Training, in partnership with One to One Support Services Ltd, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Freelance British Sign Language (BSL) Tutor to join our training provision
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified BSL tutor to deliver high-quality teaching to learners. The successful tutor will deliver a range of BSL provisions, including BSL taster sessions, Level 1 BSL and Level 2 BSL, supporting learners at different stages of their BSL journey.

Alongside its support services, One to One Support Services operate a dedicated training facility, providing a comprehensive range of training and consultancy services, including British Sign Language courses.

About the role
As a Freelance British Sign Language Tutor, you will play an important role in supporting learners to develop their BSL skills and achieve recognised qualifications.
Workplace type: On-site at our Head Office in Holmewood, Chesterfield.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging, structured BSL lessons to individuals and groups.
- Supporting learners working towards recognised BSL qualifications.
- Assessing learner progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet different learning styles, abilities, and levels.
- Developing and engaging learning resources and activities.
- Ensuring teaching meets Signature requirements and internal quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and committed BSL Tutor who is passionate about supporting learners and promoting inclusive communication. You will ideally have:
- Strong tutoring experience in British Sign Language, including both One to One and group teaching.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly through BSL and written/spoken English.
- Proven teaching experience.
- A relevant BSL teaching qualification or recognised accreditation, such as a Signature-approved qualification, a Level 3 BSL or above is required.
- Current and comprehensive knowledge of BSL and relevant teaching practices.
- An understanding of inclusive teaching and the needs of Deaf and hard of hearing learners.
- Strong organisation skills, including lesson planning, time management, and accurate record keeping.
- The ability to work independently as a freelancer while also contributing positively to the Time4Training team.
