Freelance Building Surveyor – School Condition Surveys
Location: Liverpool
Rate: £300–£350 per day (DOE)
Contract: Freelance
Start Date: September 2026
An established property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Building Surveyor to support a programme of school condition surveys across Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity for surveyors with experience in building condition assessments who are confident carrying out detailed inspections and recording data accurately.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive condition surveys of education buildings, inspecting each property on a floor-by-floor and block-by-block basis. Survey findings will be recorded directly into Excel spreadsheets, so strong attention to detail and confidence using Excel are essential.

Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed condition surveys of school buildings
- Inspect properties on a floor-by-floor and block-by-block basis
- Assess and record the condition of building fabric and elements
- Accurately complete survey data using Excel spreadsheets
- Produce clear, consistent, and high-quality survey records
Requirements

- Experience carrying out building condition surveys
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of building construction and defects
- Confident using Microsoft Excel for survey data capture
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS certificate (required)

- Rate: £300–£350 per day, depending on experience
