Freelance German Copywriter (Native) — Global Content Team

Location: [Remote / Hybrid — Berlin]

Type: Freelance, 2–3 days per week

Team: Global Content, CLARK

About the role

CLARK is looking for a native German copywriter to join our Global Content team on a freelance basis, 2–3 days per week. You'll write copy for a regulated financial services business, working predominantly from creative briefs across paid social, search ads, web pages, app and product pages, internal documents, and CRM.

This is a hands-on writing role. You'll need to hit the ground running, work confidently within brand and compliance guidelines, meet deadlines, and consistently produce copy engineered to convert interest into sales — across our core products: private pension (AV), income protection (BU), private health insurance (PKV), and our app proposition, among others.

What you'll do

  • Respond to creative briefs and produce native-German copy across a wide range of formats: paid social ads, search ad copy, web pages, app and product pages, internal comms, and CRM (email, lifecycle, retention).
  • Write with a clear commercial objective: turning interest and consideration into sales, for regulated financial products.
  • Take part in monthly ideation sessions for paid social, using performance insight from the paid media team to conceptualise new creative angles and turn data-driven hypotheses into strong, testable copy ideas.
  • Work directly with stakeholders across content, brand, performance marketing, and compliance to get copy from brief to final, approved version.
  • Adapt tone and structure to fit each channel's constraints (e.g. character limits, regulatory disclosures, platform requirements) without losing persuasive power.
  • Manage multiple briefs concurrently and deliver to deadline, prioritising as needed across a busy content pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for

  • Native-level German (spoken and written) with excellent commercial copywriting skills.
  • Proven experience writing performance-driven copy — ideally including paid social and search ads — with a track record of copy that converts.
  • Comfort working from creative/marketing briefs and translating strategic direction into copy, rather than needing to originate strategy from scratch.
  • Ability to conceptualise creative ideas from data and insight, not just execute pre-defined concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail — important given the regulated nature of the business and the compliance review process this entails.
  • Reliable, deadline-driven, and able to work independently with minimal oversight once briefed.
  • Comfortable working across many content types and switching between long-form (web, internal docs) and short-form (ads, social) writing.
