About the Opportunity
Cambridge for Global Training is seeking an experienced freelance trainer to deliver an executive-level certification preparation course titled Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) in London.
Course Overview
The Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) training course is meticulously designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills in environmental management, enabling them to effectively address complex environmental challenges and ensure compliance with regulations. In today's regulatory and sustainability-driven business environment, effective leadership goes beyond basic compliance; it requires managers to master environmental risks, implement robust systems like ISO 14001, and drive sustainable corporate performance. This course combines theoretical insights, practical exercises, and real-world case studies to prepare participants for high-level environmental management roles and certification success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) course in line with the approved curriculum and learning objectives.
- Coordinate all course-related activities with Cambridge for Global Training.
- Receive and manage shipped training materials, documentation, or equipment.
- Prepare, customise, and update training materials, presentations, case studies, and practical exercises.
- Ensure high-quality course delivery in line with professional and executive training standards.
- Facilitate interactive discussions, practical case studies, and real-world applications.
- Maintain effective session flow, time management, and participant engagement throughout the programme.

Course Coverage Requirements
The trainer must be able to confidently deliver all course units, including:
- Introduction to Environmental Management: Overview of environmental management principles and objectives, global environmental challenges and sustainable development goals, legal and regulatory frameworks for environmental protection, and the role of the environmental manager in organizations.
- Environmental Risk Assessment: Identifying environmental risks and impacts associated with business activities, techniques for conducting environmental risk assessments, prioritizing risks and establishing risk management strategies, and case studies.
- Environmental Compliance and Regulations: Understanding environmental regulations and standards, compliance requirements for air, water, waste, and hazardous materials, permitting and reporting obligations, and developing compliance programs.
- Pollution Prevention and Control: Principles of pollution prevention and control, best practices for minimizing pollution and waste generation, pollution control technologies, and integrating prevention into business operations.
- Environmental Management Systems (EMS): Overview of environmental management systems, implementing ISO 14001 and other EMS standards, establishing environmental policies, objectives, targets, and internal auditing.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in environmental management, sustainability, corporate training, or regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience delivering environmental management, ISO 14001, sustainability, or executive performance training programmes previously.
- Strong knowledge of modern environmental frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and pollution control strategies.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience delivering executive-level or corporate training programmes to environmental managers, sustainability professionals, health and safety leaders, and corporate teams.
Preferred Profile
- Background in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Corporate Compliance.
- Practical experience implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS), sustainability strategies, or regulatory compliance frameworks within organizations.
- Availability to be physically present in London during the course dates (21 – 25 Sep 2026).
