I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence speaking to and guiding groups.
- Fluency in spoken English.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different workshop environments.
- An interest in creative activities and hands-on experiences.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.
Previous workshop, teaching, hospitality, events, retail, or other customer-facing experience is a plus.
Availability & Location - Essential Requirements
You must be available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays across a 12-hour scheduling window each day (10.00am - 10.00pm).
Duende Lab is a demand-driven business: workshop schedules and engagement lengths depend on bookings. A 12-hour availability window does not mean 12 hours of continuous work. You may be offered one or more sessions within that window, with unpaid gaps between workshops.
You must currently live in London, with a practical journey of approximately one hour or less to our studio (SW8 4DN). Applicants based in Zones 1–4 are preferred, provided they can meet this commuting requirement.
Some engagements involve early starts or late finishes, so your journey must be workable at those times.

This is a self-employed freelance opportunity, with work offered on an engagement-by-engagement basis.
