Freelance Festival Brochure Editor and Production Coordinator
Cambridge Film Trust is seeking a Freelance Festival Brochure Editor and Production Coordinator to manage the editorial and production process for the printed brochure for the 45th Cambridge Film Festival (CFF).
Cambridge Film Trust is the charity behind CFF and its year-round film education and audience programmes. The 45th Cambridge Film Festival will take place from 22 October to 1 November 2026.
Working closely with the Festival team and brochure designer, the contractor will coordinate programme information, edit and write copy, manage images and credits, and oversee proofing through to final print delivery.
About the role
The work will include:
- Agreeing and maintaining the brochure production schedule;
- Gathering and checking film, event and screening information;
- Writing and editing concise audience-facing copy in the CFF house style;
- Managing copy, images, credits and other publication assets;
- Supplying approved material to the brochure designer;
- Maintaining version control and a clear record of corrections and queries;
- Proofreading flatplans, designed pages and the final print-ready brochure; and
- Coordinating internal checks and final approval.

The contractor will manage their own working time and methods within the agreed production schedule. The workload will vary during the contract, with availability required at key proofing, approval and print deadlines.
The role can be completed remotely, with occasional meetings in Cambridge when necessary. Applicants must be based in the UK.
Who we are looking for
Applicants should have:
- Experience of delivering a complex print or digital publication to fixed deadlines;
- Strong copy-editing, proofreading and factual-checking skills;
- The ability to write concise copy in an agreed editorial style;
- Experience of managing substantial amounts of copy, data and image assets;
- Good version-control and record-keeping practices;
- Confidence marking up designed page proofs and communicating corrections clearly; and
- The ability to work independently while coordinating contributions and approvals from several people.
Experience of festival, cinema, cultural or events publishing is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of print-production processes and experience using Google Workspace would also be useful.
