Freelance Garment Technologist – Womenswear

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Garment Technologist to provide summer holiday cover for a busy womenswear team on behalf of our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Garment Technologist who can hit the ground running and manage the critical path while maintaining high standards of fit, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fit sessions and provide clear, commercial fit comments.
  • Review and approve samples from prototype through to production.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure garments meet quality, fit, and construction standards.
  • Manage the critical path to achieve key deadlines.
  • Measure and assess samples against specification packs.
  • Work closely with design, buying, and production teams.
  • Approve grading, size specifications, and production samples.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Garment Technologist within womenswear.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and manufacturing.
  • Confident leading fit sessions independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with overseas suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly to a new team.
