Sounds Of The Summer is a community-driven music festival that celebrates the songs, memories, and shared moments that connect generations. Built around the “soundtrack of our lives,” the festival aims to create an experience that feels familiar yet distinctly new for attendees. Every aspect—from music and artists to entertainment, atmosphere, and immersive experiences—is designed to bring people together and highlight what they have in common. The festival emphasizes participation, encouraging everyone to play a part in shaping the experience. With its first edition, Sounds Of The Summer is setting the stage for a unique, community-built festival that blends iconic music with surprising, memorable moments.
Role Description
The Freelance Graphic Designer will support Sounds Of The Summer’s visual identity across digital and print assets, working closely with the marketing and events teams in the Greater Sheffield Area. This is a part-time remote role involving creating graphics for social media, websites, signage, merchandise, and festival collateral that reflect the brand’s community-focused ethos. Day-to-day work includes translating creative briefs into compelling visuals, preparing production-ready files, and refining designs based on feedback from stakeholders. The designer will help maintain consistent branding across all touchpoints, contribute to campaign concepts, and collaborate with photographers, videographers, and other creatives to ensure coherent storytelling. The role also requires staying informed about current design trends in music and events, while ensuring designs are accessible and inclusive.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Graphics and Graphic Design, with a portfolio showcasing festival, event, or entertainment-related work.
- Experience in Logo Design and Branding, including developing or maintaining cohesive visual identities.
- Proficiency in Typography, with the ability to select and apply type that enhances readability and brand expression.
- Competence with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar) and preparing assets for both digital and print.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Sheffield Area, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, strong visual communication skills, and an understanding of inclusive, audience-centered design.
- Relevant education or equivalent practical experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is beneficial.
