About Us

THG Fluently is a leading Language Service Provider dedicated to breaking down language barriers in critical public services. We connect professional freelance interpreters with essential assignments, ensuring that everyone in the community can access vital support, regardless of the language they speak.

The Opportunity

We have an urgent and significant need for professional Hungarian and Turkish interpreters in the Gillingham (ME7) area. Due to high demand from our key healthcare partners, including the Medway NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to build a dedicated team of local linguists to provide essential face-to-face interpreting services.

By joining our pool, you will be providing crucial linguistic support for medical appointments and other community-based assignments, making a direct and positive impact on patient care and public service accessibility.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide professional, accurate, and impartial face-to-face interpreting between service users and providers (e.g., doctors, nurses, social workers).
  • Travel to assignments primarily within the ME7 postal code area and surrounding localities.
  • Manage your availability and accept assignments through our user-friendly online portal.
  • Adhere to our professional Code of Conduct, ensuring confidentiality and impartiality at all times.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Fluency in both English and Hungarian OR English and Turkish.
  • A recognised interpreting qualification (e.g., Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Certificate in Community Interpreting (CCI), or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a professional interpreting capacity, preferably within a public service or medical context.
  • Must be based in or willing to travel regularly to the Medway, Kent area.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Eligibility to work as a self-employed professional in the UK.
