Role

This role is ideal for an illustrator passionate about bringing children's stories to life through gentle, timeless artwork. The project involves creating approximately 16 illustrations for a written children's book, capturing the charm of early-1900s countryside settings. The illustrations should feature children in period-appropriate attire, such as patchwork dresses, floppy hats, boots, three-quarter-length trousers, and waistcoats, evoking a classic storybook feel. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a soft illustrative touch, and the ability to convey warmth and nostalgia through their art.

Deliverables

  • Produce approximately 16 full-color illustrations that align with the provided manuscript and art direction.
  • Develop character designs reflecting early-1900s countryside fashion and settings.
  • Collaborate closely to ensure the visual style matches the gentle, timeless tone of the story.
  • Deliver high-resolution digital files suitable for print and digital publication.
  • Revise artwork based on feedback to achieve the desired look and feel.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
