We’re passionate about inspiring our members to live active, balanced lives through exceptional fitness experiences in our clubs. To support this, we’re looking for talented and engaging Freelance Instructors who can bring energy, expertise, and community into every class they teach.
Your role:
- Personally deliver classes across London & Collection clubs with the uniqueness that’s given you a following.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging group exercise classes in line with Virgin Active standards and the requirements of the format you teach.
- Bring your own personality, energy, and style to every class while creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members.
- Prepare thoroughly for each class, including music, equipment, choreography, and class content where relevant.
- Deliver clear, confident, and motivating instruction, ensuring members understand what they are doing and how to exercise safely.
- Create an energetic and memorable experience that motivates members to participate, progress, and enjoy being active.
- Build positive relationships with members and contribute to a strong sense of community within the club.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
- Follow all Virgin Active health, safety, safeguarding, and operational procedures.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness, set-up, and safe use of equipment and studio space before, during, and after your class.
- Communicate effectively with the club team and provide appropriate feedback or report any issues that may affect the member experience.
- Represent the Virgin Active brand positively and professionally both inside and outside the club.
- Be open to feedback and continually look for ways to develop your teaching and improve the member experience.

- You have a good understanding of how music can structure your class.
- You have experience in teaching group exercise classes, knowing the fundamentals of clear communication and giving instructions.
- You are passionate about keeping people safe whilst exercising, always keeping an eye out for any risks to our members.
- You love the community aspect of fitness, and happily put in the time to develop strong relationships with our members.
- You love to learn from those around you.
- You will act as a member of one team with one goal, will always be yourself, and work hard. Most importantly, you dream big.
- You are always looking for ways to learn and improve, to inspire people while having fun and doing the right thing.
