Freelance Midweight Interior Designer
North West London - 2 days per week
A boutique, high-end residential interior design studio based in North London is looking for a talented Freelance Midweight Interior Designer to join the team on an initial part-time basis. The studio specialises in high-end residential interiors and has a number of exciting projects moving into a busier phase. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer looking for a flexible freelance role within a creative and design-led environment.
The studio is ideally looking for someone who can commit to approximately two days per week, with working days varying according to project requirements.
The Role
Working closely with the studio founder and wider project team, the Freelance Midweight Interior Designer will provide hands-on support across a range of residential projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the design and delivery of high-end residential projects
- Producing and developing FF&E specifications
- Assisting with sourcing, selecting and specifying furniture, finishes, fixtures and accessories
- Producing and amending AutoCAD drawings
- Supporting the studio across various project stages, from design development through to implementation
- Liaising with suppliers and assisting with product research and procurement where required
- Helping to maintain organised project information and specifications
- Providing additional design and studio support as projects become busier

About You
The ideal candidate will be a confident Midweight Interior Designer with at least five years’ professional experience, ideally gained within a high-end residential interior design environment. The studio is looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in high-end residential interiors
- Strong across FF&E and specification
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD or Vectorworks
- Detail-oriented, organised and commercially aware
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing project requirements
- Confident communicating with suppliers and other project stakeholders
- Passionate about interiors and able to bring a strong design sensibility to the role

Vectorworks experience would be advantageous. An interest in photography, Instagram and wider marketing/social media would also be a welcome bonus, particularly for someone who enjoys contributing to the creative presence of a small design studio, although this is by no means a requirement.
The Opportunity
This is a flexible freelance opportunity with a well-established, design-focused residential studio in North West London location. The role would suit an experienced designer who enjoys working within a boutique environment and is looking for flexibility alongside the opportunity to contribute to beautiful, high-end residential projects.
- Start date: Mid-October
- Commitment: Approximately 2 days per week, with days varying according to project requirements
- Location: North West London
- Rate: £200 per day
