It is one of Britain’s leading news weeklies, with a circulation of 121,000. It is a digest that takes the best of the British and international news, comment, and arts coverage, and distils it into just 35 succinct editorial pages, helping readers to keep abreast of events and form their own opinions on the latest issues.
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Freelance Journalist role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The journalist will work on the magazine’s “The world at a glance” and “Europe at a glance” news pages: concise summaries of major international news events, arranged around a map. The successful candidate will work closely with the editorial team to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and adherence to ethical journalism practices. This role will be on-site (Mondays and Tuesdays) in our London office near Paddington station. Pay is dependent on experience, but competitive.

Qualifications
- At least five years’ experience in news journalism, and a strong interest in international news. However, we would consider candidates with a similar level of experience in a field that requires comparable skills, and who can demonstrate excellent writing ability and a good working knowledge of the news.
- A demonstrable ability to write in The Week's distinctive voice.
