Overview Join our dynamic team as a Freelance Merchandise Planner and play a pivotal role in shaping product assortment strategies, optimizing inventory levels, and driving profitable growth. This flexible, project-based position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in supply chain management, data analysis, and category management to deliver impactful results. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven plans that align with business objectives and enhance overall product performance. This role is a part-time freelance position.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive merchandise plans by analyzing sales trends, market data, and consumer insights to maximize profitability and meet business goals.
- Utilize data mining techniques to extract actionable insights from large datasets, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
- Manage product lifecycle processes, assortment planning, and category management to ensure optimal stock levels and product relevance.
- Coordinate logistics and supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of merchandise while minimizing costs and inefficiencies.
- Conduct business requirements gathering and process improvement initiatives to streamline planning workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Create compelling data visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), sales forecasts, and inventory health to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotional strategies that align with merchandising plans and drive customer engagement.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in profit & loss management, project management, and supply chain operations within a retail or merchandising environment.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in data mining and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of EXCEL systems and experience working with product management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of logistics, category management, and business requirements gathering.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse audiences.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for merchandising, product development, and driving business growth through strategic planning.
