About Us
Based in Huddersfield, Horizon Risk Consultancy Ltd provides effective Environmental, Health and Safety training and consultancy services. We are a NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner and deliver NEBOSH courses through a range of learning methods, including our established live Virtual Classroom programmes.
REMOTE Freelance NEBOSH National General Certificate Tutor (Associate) – September 2026
We are looking for an experienced Freelance NEBOSH National General Certificate Tutor to deliver an upcoming 10-day Virtual Classroom course via Microsoft Teams on behalf of our training organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional training provider committed to delivering high-quality learner experiences. Successful tutors will also be considered for future NEBOSH programmes throughout the year.
Course Dates
- Week 1 (GNC1): 7–11 September 2026
- Week 2 (GNC2): 21–25 September 2026
This is a 10-day delivery commitment. Applicants must be available for all scheduled course dates.
The Role
You will deliver the NEBOSH National General Certificate to a cohort of learners, providing engaging, professional tuition and ensuring learners are well prepared for both the Open Book Examination and Practical Assessment.

You will be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging, interactive, and learner-focused training sessions
- Explaining complex health and safety concepts in a clear and practical way
- Preparing learners for the NEBOSH Open Book Examination (OBE) and Practical Assessment
- Encouraging learner participation and maintaining high levels of engagement throughout the course
- Providing high-quality written feedback on homework and mini-mock assessments to support learner progress and examination success
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience delivering the NEBOSH National General Certificate
- Appropriate teaching qualification (AET/PTLLS or equivalent)
- A Level 6 Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent)
- Excellent presentation and learner engagement skills
- Reliable, professional and well organised
Desirable
- CMIOSH or GradIOSH
- Experience delivering live online training via Microsoft Teams or similar platforms
- Consistently strong learner feedback and pass rates
- Experience working with commercial training providers
