Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Freelance Planner to partner with us, to manage planning applications and appeals for private residential projects on behalf of our clients on a flexible basis.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications and appeals on behalf of clients
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, triaging queries and allocating actions as needed
  • Maintaining timely, proactive correspondence with local planning authorities to maximise the chances of a successful outcome
  • Keeping clients informed and engaged at each key stage of the planning process
  • Collaborating with our in-house planners to manage and progress casework through to decision

What We're Looking For

  • At least 12 months' development management experience within a UK local planning authority or planning consultancy
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system, particularly Permitted Development Rights and Householder applications
  • Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams
  • The ability to work independently, managing your own time, deadlines and pipeline of cases
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback, and comfortable both challenging and being challenged
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident working directly with clients
  • A genuinely customer-focused approach
