Freelance Podcast Studio Engineer
Podcast House is looking for experienced freelance engineers to join our studio team in London. We record professional audio and video podcasts for a range of clients, including brands, broadcasters, charities, and independent creators. Sessions take place across our Farringdon and Kennington studios.
Responsibilities
- Prepare studios for podcast recordings
- Set up and operate cameras, microphones, and lighting
- Monitor audio and video throughout each session
- Support clients and guests with the recording setup
- Manage file transfers and ensure all footage is safely backed up
- Troubleshoot technical issues calmly and efficiently
- Reset the studio between bookings
- Liaise with producers, directors, and client teams

We’re looking for
- Experience operating cameras and recording audio for podcasts, interviews, or studio productions
- Knowledge of professional cameras, microphones, lighting, and recording workflows
- Confidence working with multi-camera 4K setups
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and client-facing manner
- Reliable, organised, and punctual
- Availability for freelance bookings, including some evenings and weekends

Experience with Sony FX3 cameras, Shure SM7B microphones, Riverside, file management, and podcast production is useful but not essential.
This is a freelance, session-based role, with opportunities for regular work depending on availability and performance.
