IFy Atelier

IFy Atelier is looking to explore working with a self-employed Freelance Sales & Business Development Representative to help grow an independent creative publishing studio.

Remote | Freelance/self-employed | Commission-based | UK & international market focus

IFy Atelier, an independent creative publishing studio based in Belfast and operating under House of IFy Limited, is looking for an experienced sales or business development professional to help grow sales of our existing publications, identify new B2B, wholesale and retail opportunities, and support the development of the studio’s wider sales function.

Our founder has been doing everything from writing, research and publishing to marketing and sales, and the time has come to bring in dedicated sales expertise so more of that time can return to the creative work.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work with IFy Atelier at an early stage of the studio’s growth.

Our current publishing catalogue includes the Iconic African Locations Colouring Book series, with further publications and creative projects in development. This means there is an opportunity to become involved while IFy Atelier’s dedicated sales function is still taking shape, rather than stepping into an established sales pipeline.

The initial focus would be on:

  • Identifying and approaching suitable retailers, stockists, organisations and other potential customers
  • Developing B2B, retail and wholesale sales opportunities
  • Generating and following up relevant sales leads
  • Building relationships with prospective customers and commercial partners
  • Identifying new markets and routes to sale for IFy Atelier publications
  • Feeding back customer questions, objections and market insights to help inform our longer-term sales approach

We are less interested in outreach volume than in developing relevant, professional relationships that make sense for IFy Atelier, its products and its brand.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

For the right person, there may also be scope to contribute practical experience and ideas as IFy Atelier develops its wider sales function over time.

Who We’re Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from self-employed professionals with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Sales and business development
  • Book or publishing sales
  • Retail and wholesale outreach
  • Independent publishing
  • B2B sales
  • Relationship-based account development

You should be comfortable working independently and bringing your own sales experience, judgement and approach.

You may be representing IFy Atelier directly when communicating with prospective customers and organisations, so professional communication and good brand judgement are particularly important.

Knowledge of publishing, books, retail or the creative industries would be valuable, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in hearing from experienced sales professionals from other sectors who believe their skills could translate effectively.

How It Works

Arrangement: Freelance and self-employed. This is not an employed position.

Working hours: No fixed working hours. We are looking for someone who can manage their own time, working methods and sales activity independently.

Compensation: Results/commission-based. Commission will be earned on completed, attributable sales generated by the freelancer and successfully received by IFy Atelier. Cancelled or returned orders, refunded purchases and other transactions where the sale is subsequently reversed will not qualify for commission. The exact commission structure, attribution method and payment arrangements will be agreed before work begins.

Location: Remote.

Sales channels: Sales will primarily be generated through sales channels operated and monitored directly by IFy Atelier, allowing qualifying sales to be appropriately attributed and recorded.

Market focus: UK and international opportunities where commercially appropriate.

Start: By mutual agreement.

IFy Atelier is still at an early stage of growth, and the longer-term structure of the arrangement is deliberately not being over-prescribed.

We are genuinely interested in hearing from experienced professionals about what they believe would make a realistic and mutually beneficial working arrangement.

For the right person, this is an opportunity not only to generate sales, but potentially to contribute practical experience and ideas as IFy Atelier’s sales function develops alongside the business.

About IFy Atelier

IFy Atelier is an independent creative publishing studio based in Belfast, creating culturally inspired books, thoughtful storytelling and creative projects exploring culture, place, identity and individuality.

Our aim is to build the commercial infrastructure around the creative work without losing the independence, thoughtfulness and identity on which IFy Atelier was founded.

Interested?

If you have relevant experience and think you could help grow IFy Atelier’s sales, we’d be interested in hearing from you.

Please apply with information about your relevant experience and briefly tell us how you would approach developing sales for a growing independent publishing studio.

We are particularly interested in hearing how you would approach the opportunity, rather than receiving a generic sales pitch.

Suitable applicants may then be invited to an initial conversation to explore whether there is a good fit on both sides.
