Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Freelance Sales Consultant to drive business growth through strategic B2B (business-to-business) sales efforts to join our award-winning pan-African media and communications group. In this role, you will leverage your excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to build strong relationships with clients, identify their needs, and deliver tailored solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for self-driven professionals who thrive in a flexible environment and are passionate about expanding market reach. As a freelance, you will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule while contributing significantly to our sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to attract new business clients.
  • Engage with prospective clients through calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings to understand their needs and present suitable solutions.
  • Send proposals to close deals that benefit both the client and the company.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, sales activities, and follow-up tasks using CRM systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Manage your time efficiently to meet sales targets and ensure timely follow-ups with prospects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients and ongoing support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with clients in the African market, specifically in finance, government, policy, or major development sectors.
  • Self-started with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the capacity to identify new business opportunities.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, meet tight deadlines and focus in a freelance capacity.
  • Passion for Africa and a genuine interest in contributing to its development through the power of media and communications.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales in Africa with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings or presentations.
  • Strong publishing, editorial, and conference producing literacy including familiarity with CRM software, email platforms, and MS Office tools.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills to handle multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
