FREELANCE PROJECT | REMOTE | UK PREFERRED
My Trousseau is seeking an experienced Shopify Designer & Developer to design, build and launch the e-commerce website for a new sister fashion brand due to launch.
We are looking for someone who can create a sophisticated, high-performing website that reflects the brand’s positioning. This is not a basic theme setup. The successful applicant should have a strong understanding of luxury fashion, editorial design and e-commerce, and be able to manage the complete project from initial planning through to launch.
International applicants are welcome but must demonstrate experience working with UK-based fashion, luxury or premium e-commerce clients and be available for regular communication during UK working hours.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Design and build the Shopify website from start to finish
- Translate our brand identity, imagery and creative direction into a distinctive digital experience
- Create an editorial, visually led design across the homepage, product, collection and content pages
- Create a seamless, intuitive and conversion-focused customer journey, from discovering the collections through to product selection, checkout and post-purchase communication, across mobile, tablet and desktop
- Structure products, collections, navigation, filters and sizing information
- Configure the website for both UK and international sales, including appropriate currencies, payment options, shipping, taxes and duties
- Build strong SEO foundations into the website, including a search-friendly site structure, page titles, product information, image optimisation and mobile performance
- Connect and test appropriate search, shopping, social media and analytics channels to improve product visibility and allow us to measure how customers find and use the website
- Optimise the website for speed, usability, search visibility and conversion
- Set up and test essential privacy and customer-facing store functions
- Recommend and integrate appropriate Shopify features or third-party tools
- Explain any additional apps, licences, subscriptions or other costs clearly and obtain our approval before making purchases or entering into paid commitments
- Present key stages of the website structure and design for our approval throughout the project
- Fully test the website, checkout and integrations before launch
- Manage the launch and resolve any technical issues that arise
- Provide training and a complete handover so our team can confidently manage products, collections, orders and website content
- Include a minimum 30-day post-launch support period to resolve technical issues and ensure the website and its integrations are working correctly

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

SHOPIFY AI EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone with practical experience using Shopify’s latest AI capabilities across website design, content, merchandising or store management.
We would like someone who understands these capabilities and can recommend where they would genuinely improve the website or make it easier for our team to manage. Any use of AI must support the brand’s creative direction and should not result in a generic, AI-generated website.
ABOUT YOU

- A strong portfolio of live Shopify websites for fashion or other luxury product-based e-commerce brands, such as jewellery, beauty or premium lifestyle
- A strong fashion and editorial design sensibility
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX), user interface design (UI) and conversion-focused e-commerce design
- Experience customising Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes to create flexible, distinctive websites that can be managed easily after handover
- Experience setting up Shopify websites for UK and international e-commerce
- Practical experience using Shopify’s built-in AI capabilities within live website projects
- Able to recommend the right approach and explain technical decisions clearly and without unnecessary jargon
- Highly organised, reliable and able to manage the complete project independently
- Excellent attention to detail
