Content Writer - Freelance Short-Term Project

Location: UK - 100% Remote / Home Working (Must permanently reside in UK and hold unrestricted right to work to apply)

Project Fee: £250 Fixed Fee

Contract: Freelance Short-Term Independent Contractor Project

About The Role

This is an excellent freelance opportunity for an experienced educator and Content Writer who enjoys balancing high-quality curriculum development with efficient, independent delivery.

As a Freelance Content Writer, you will work independently to bring the primary History English National Curriculum to life, drafting engaging, curriculum-aligned educational materials. You will take complete ownership of a set allocation of 13 deliverables over a fixed 5-week period. You will be provided with all relevant templates and style guides and can work flexibly to meet the deadlines. You will receive the full project payment upon successful completion of the work.

In This Role, You’ll

We are currently looking for 1 Freelance Content Writer to join our Content Development team, taking independent ownership of:

  • The Windrush Experience: Create content focused on The Windrush generation, covering why the passengers made their journey on the Windrush, their experience of life in Britain, the impact of this generation on British society, significant individuals who made this journey, and celebrating their legacy in Britain.
  • Deliverables: 2 PPTs (20-30 slides each, KS2), 2 Display Poster Packs (10 posters each, KS2), 9 Activity Sheets (2-5 pages each, 3x KS1 and 6x KS2). Total: 13 resources.
  • Execute: High-quality educational content writing that directly aligns with the 2014 National Curriculum and follows provided Twinkl style guides.
  • Manage: Your own schedule and delivery timeline independently to ensure all 13 assigned resources are completed by the 5-week project deadline.

What You'll Need To Succeed

We are looking for an independent freelancer who combines deep knowledge of primary History teaching expertise with a self-motivated, structured approach to meeting project deadlines.

You’ll Bring

Essential: A formal English primary teacher qualification e.g. BEd, PGCE.

Essential: Proven teaching experience of primary History teaching or leadership roles.

Essential: A permanent residency in the UK

Essential: Your own tools, including a reliable computer, stable internet connection, and standard word processing software.
