About Bitten Digital

Bitten Digital is a growing web design and digital marketing agency based in Oxfordshire. We help ambitious independent businesses show up better online through stronger websites, content and joined-up digital marketing.

We are a friendly, creative and fast-moving team. We care about doing brilliant work, but we do not take ourselves too seriously. We are now looking for a Junior Social Media Assistant to join us and grow with the team.

About the role

This is an entry-level freelance role for someone who wants to build a career in social media, content creation and strategy. You do not need years of agency experience, but you do need energy, creativity, common sense and a genuine interest in video content.

You will initially support client shoots, behind-the-scenes filming, admin, reporting and onboarding. As your skills grow, you will move into scheduling posts, writing captions, planning content and eventually managing client accounts.

Our goal is to develop the right person into a Social Media Manager specialising in content and strategy, and to build a long-term role around their strengths.

What you will be doing

  • Assist at client content shoots and help film short-form social content
  • Capture behind-the-scenes photos and video of the team
  • Spot useful moments, details and creative opportunities during shoots
  • Support client onboarding, offboarding, reporting and general admin
  • Learn how content is planned around each client’s wider business goals

As you develop, you will begin to:

  • Create and schedule posts and edit short-form video
  • Write captions in different client tones of voice
  • Contribute content ideas, campaigns and monthly planning
  • Review account performance and identify opportunities
  • Communicate with clients and take ownership of your own accounts

Video and content creation

Video is a key part of this role. You do not need to be an experienced videographer, but you should understand, or be eager to learn, what makes social video interesting and effective. You should feel comfortable at content shoots and be interested in filming on a phone, visual storytelling, Reels and TikToks, editing, pacing, hooks and the details that make people stop scrolling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who we are looking for

We are open to someone with very little professional experience. You might be a graduate, changing direction, early in your career or building skills through personal projects, volunteering or your own social accounts.

The most important thing is that you are the right fit for the team. You will ideally be:

  • Energetic, creative and full of ideas
  • Polite, warm and professional with clients
  • Organised, reliable and comfortable using your initiative
  • Quick to learn, open to feedback and calm when plans change
  • Happy working independently and as part of a remote team
  • Interested in content, culture, trends and video
  • Confident enough to get involved and bring your own point of view

We want someone who notices things and understands what makes content feel current, different, interesting and human.

Useful skills

You do not need to tick every box, but the following would be helpful:

  • Confidence filming on a phone and basic video editing skills
  • Basic Canva experience
  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or LinkedIn
  • A good eye for visuals, framing and interesting details
  • Experience working with clients or customers
  • An interest in branding, marketing or small businesses

Training will be provided on our processes, tools, client accounts and approach to content strategy.

Learning and progression

We want this person to become a long-term member of Bitten Digital. You will have the chance to build skills in content strategy, filming, editing, reporting, analytics and client management, with a clear path towards becoming a Social Media Manager. We also have a website team and support clients with wider digital marketing. Where there is an interest and a good fit, we can build broader digital and website skills into your learning journey.
