Freelance Social Media & Creative Assistant

Belfast / Hybrid

Freelance, three-month contract

October – December 2026

About Fable:

Fable is an independent creative studio working across luxury hospitality, food and drink. Our clients include Michelin-recognised hotels, heritage brands, restaurants and hospitality businesses with a strong sense of place and identity. We develop photography, social media, campaigns and wider creative direction rooted in the culture and character of each brand. Based in Ireland, our work extends across the UK and internationally, with clients in Ireland, London and New York.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Freelance Social Media & Creative Assistant to support Fable across a busy portfolio of hospitality clients in the lead-up to Christmas. Working closely with the Creative Director, you’ll help carry established strategy and creative direction into the day-to-day running of client accounts. The role spans social media management, short-form video, creative production and occasional social-first photo and video capture. We’re looking for someone visually aware, highly organised and confident moving between different brands, tones of voice and priorities.

Your work will include:

  • Managing and updating client content calendars
  • Preparing, scheduling and publishing social content across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Creating and editing Reels, Stories, carousels and short-form video
  • Writing and adapting social copy within established brand tones of voice
  • Creating simple graphics and layouts in Canva
  • Researching campaigns, cultural moments and relevant hospitality activity
  • Organising creative assets and supporting briefs, shot lists and reporting
  • Assisting with social-first photography and video capture where required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Your own smartphone suitable for high-quality social capture, with iPhone preferred

Fable will provide access to Canva and relevant client platforms.

Experience with Adobe Lightroom is highly desirable. Owning a camera is not required, but applicants with their own camera or previous photography or videography experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

How we work:

Fable is a small independent studio, so you’ll work closely with the Creative Director and across several client accounts. The role is predominantly hybrid, with some in-person availability required in Belfast and the greater Belfast area for shoots, meetings and client work. The initial contract will run from October until the end of December 2026, with the possibility of further freelance work as the studio grows.

Freelance basis:

This role is offered on a self-employed freelance basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing their own tax, National Insurance and any other relevant self-employment obligations, and for maintaining their own appropriate insurance where required. This is not an employed position and does not include employee benefits such as holiday pay, sick pay or pension contributions.

How to apply:

Please apply directly through LinkedIn, or email your CV, a short cover letter and any relevant portfolio or examples of previous work to hello@fablestudio.co.

In your cover letter, we’d love to hear a little about your experience, why the role interests you and any particular interest you have in hospitality, photography, videography or creative work.
