We are currently recruiting for a Freelance Social Media & Community Lead to join a growing founder-led luxury beauty brand as it enters its next phase of growth.
With a strong direct-to-consumer business and significant investment behind its digital channels, the brand is looking to build a best-in-class social and community presence that drives both engagement and commercial impact. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping how the brand shows up across social platforms.
The successful candidate will bring a strategic yet hands-on approach, combining community building, content development, and performance-led thinking to create meaningful connections with consumers and drive measurable results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute social media and community strategy across key platforms
- Develop performance-focused content that drives engagement, brand awareness, and conversion
- Build and nurture an engaged online community, strengthening customer loyalty and advocacy
- Translate brand vision and positioning into compelling social-first storytelling
- Create and manage content calendars aligned with launches, campaigns, and commercial priorities
- Identify emerging trends, platform opportunities, and cultural moments to keep content relevant and innovative
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency across marketing and brand activity
- Develop creative concepts and oversee execution from idea through to delivery
- Monitor community sentiment and customer engagement across social channels
- Analyse performance data and provide recommendations to optimise content and channel effectiveness
- Stay abreast of developments within the beauty, luxury, and social media landscape, bringing new ideas and best practice into the business
- Support the development of long-term social and community infrastructure as the brand continues to scale

Requirements:
- Proven experience leading social media and community initiatives within luxury beauty brands (preferably colour cosmetics)
- Strong understanding of social strategy, content creation, community management, and performance creative
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of how social media contributes to wider business objectives
- Strong creative instincts and an eye for compelling content
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confident influencing and collaborating with senior leaders and founders
- A broad 360-degree social media marketing mindset rather than a narrow specialist focus
- Deep understanding of the beauty consumer and evolving social media landscape
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine passion for beauty, content, community, and brand building
