Technical Product Manager (Freelance Contract)

6-Month Freelance Contract
We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to join a high-performing platform team responsible for building and scaling foundational technology that enables exceptional customer experiences at scale.
This is a highly technical product role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, product leadership, and complex engineering ecosystems. You'll own product strategy, roadmap, outcomes, and success metrics for critical platform capabilities used by multiple teams across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and own the product strategy, roadmap, success metrics, and business outcomes for a key platform area.
- Translate business, customer, and internal stakeholder needs into scalable technical platform capabilities.
- Define APIs, integration requirements, workflows, data models, business rules, events, and non-functional requirements.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to shape architecture, technical solutions, and delivery plans.
- Prioritise initiatives based on customer value, business impact, technical complexity, and risk.
- Drive adoption of shared platform services across multiple product and engineering teams.
- Monitor platform performance and optimise key metrics including adoption, reliability, operational efficiency, and delivery effectiveness.
- Ensure platform solutions meet security, privacy, compliance, and resilience standards.
- Communicate product vision, priorities, and outcomes to stakeholders and senior leadership.

What We're Looking For

5+ years' experience in Technical Product Management or a related technical discipline.
โ
Proven experience owning and delivering:
- Technical platforms
- Shared services
- Infrastructure products
- Developer-facing platforms
- Backend systems used across multiple teams
โ Strong understanding of: - APIs and integrations
- Distributed and event-driven systems
- Service-oriented architectures
- Data contracts and data models
- Platform reliability and observability
- Automation and orchestration
โ Ability to: - Translate complex technical challenges into business outcomes.
- Convert business requirements into clear technical requirements.
- Influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Drive adoption of platform solutions across large organisations.
โ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, data, legal, privacy, and leadership teams.
