RIFT Social Enterprise
RIFT Social Enterprise is growing our network of freelance Training Associates to support the delivery of our self-employment and enterprise programmes across the UK.
We specialise in helping people explore self-employment as a realistic route into work, particularly people who may face barriers to employment. Our programmes are delivered across community, employability and custodial settings, as well as remotely.
We're looking for experienced, engaging associates who can deliver practical training, workshops and one-to-one support that helps participants build the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to explore, start and develop a business.
What you could be doing
Depending on the programme, assignments may include:
- Delivering self-employment and business start-up workshops
- Facilitating group training
- Providing one-to-one business advice or mentoring
- Supporting participants to develop and test business ideas
- Helping people understand areas such as customers, marketing, pricing, sales, business planning and the practicalities of becoming self-employed

You may also support delivery of existing RIFT training materials and programmes. Full briefing, resources and programme-specific training will be provided.
We're particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Business start-up, enterprise or self-employment support
- Delivering engaging workshops or training
- One-to-one business advice, mentoring or coaching
- Employability programmes and supporting unemployed people or people facing barriers to employment
- Restart, NEA, Growth Hub or similar enterprise/employability programmes
- Running or supporting small businesses
- Adapting delivery for different learning styles, confidence levels and participant needs

Experience within criminal justice or prison settings is welcome, but is not essential.
Some assignments will involve delivery inside prisons. Associates undertaking custodial work will therefore need to hold, or be willing and able to obtain, the appropriate DBS and prison security clearance.
Where we're looking
We're building our Associate network across the UK and are currently particularly interested in people able to deliver in or travel to Dorset, Gloucestershire, London and Rugby, alongside other areas where RIFT programmes operate.
There may also be opportunities for remote delivery.
The arrangement
This is a freelance associate opportunity rather than an employed position. Assignments will be offered according to programme requirements and geographical demand, so there is no guarantee of a minimum volume of work.
