The Role
The Freelance Editor role at ARC is a remote, contract position focused on polishing and refining written materials that reflect the brand’s voice and standards for a specific project. Responsibilities will include writing and editing the project for clarity, consistency, grammar, and tone. The journalist/editor will collaborate with content creators and stakeholders to ensure messaging aligns with ARC’s aesthetic and guest experience. This role also involves suggesting improvements to structure and style, fact-checking where necessary, and maintaining a coherent brand narrative across all channels. The position offers flexible hours and requires reliable communication and timely delivery of assigned project.
The Project
The freelance journalist/editor will engage in the writing and editing of a newspaper for one of the ARC properties. This will align similarly with the previous newspapers of our other properties. The freelance journalist/editor will stay at the property and then undertake the project.

Skills
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for grammar, style, and consistency.
- Experience shaping brand voice and narrative for hospitality, lifestyle, or luxury-focused content.
- Ability to interpret briefs, collaborate with writers and marketers, and provide clear editorial feedback.
- Comfort working with digital tools for document review, content management, and remote communication.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail in all aspects of editorial work.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting.
- Previous experience as an editor, copy editor, or content specialist ideal; hospitality or travel experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
