About the Gaza Sunbirds
The Gaza Sunbirds are Palestine’s para-cycling team and humanitarian initiative, empowering amputee athletes to serve their communities through sport and solidarity. Since 2023, the team has led large-scale aid operations, food distributions, and community resilience projects across Gaza, while continuing its mission to represent Palestine internationally in para-cycling competitions.
Role Summary
The Video Editor will support Gaza Sunbirds’ communications and advocacy work by editing, translating, and preparing video content across digital platforms. The role contributes to consistent, timely, and accurate storytelling aligned with organisational priorities.
Core responsibilities
Video Editing Work
- Edit and finalise videos, including incorporating internal reviews and applying feedback.
- Ensure videos meet Gaza Sunbirds’ visual, accessibility, and branding standards.
Translation Work
- Translate video content by producing accurate and time-synced subtitles, as specified in the assignment.

Content Preparation for Publishing
- Preparing content in a ready-to-publish format in line with platform requirements
Coordination and Communication
- Work closely with the Communications & Editorial Operations Manager and relevant team members.
- Respond to feedback and revision requests within agreed timelines.
- Maintain clear communication regarding capacity, delivery timelines, and any constraints
Requirements and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in video editing for social and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva, Capcut or equivalent).
- Experience creating subtitles and translating video content accurately and clearly.
- Strong understanding of social media formats, aspect ratios, and platform-specific best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written), particularly for translation and subtitling.
- Experience working with advocacy, social justice, humanitarian, or movement-based organisations.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, including captioning and inclusive content practices.
- Basic graphic or motion design skills (e.g. simple animations, text overlays).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Cultural and political awareness relevant to Palestinian advocacy work.
- Reliability, discretion, and respect for sensitive content
