We’re hiring: Freelance Video Editor 🎬

Cause & Effect is looking for a Manchester-based Freelance Video Editor to join our growing team on a paid, ongoing freelance basis.

Cause & Effect is an independent platform covering electronic music, club culture, and the people behind it. We create content across a range of formats, from our Pink Sofa artist interviews and long-form conversations to backstage features, event and festival coverage, venue stories, social-first content, and original formats.

As we grow, we’re looking for an editor who can work closely with our team and help us continue developing the visual identity and quality of our content.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience editing both short-form and long-form content
  • Highly confident in DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong colour grading and colour correction skills
  • Experience with motion graphics, titles, and on-screen graphics
  • A strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and music-led editing
  • Comfortable working across different formats, aspect ratios, and platforms
  • Excellent organisation of footage, project files, timelines, and media
  • Confident handling feedback and revision rounds
  • Able to work across multiple projects and deadlines
  • Someone who takes initiative rather than simply following an existing template
  • An interest in improving editing workflows, project structures, and processes
  • Someone who can look at our existing formats and find ways to develop and elevate them creatively

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
