Job Title

This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft a compelling two-minute documentary-style film highlighting the transformation of sargassum in Caye Caulker, Belize, into regenerative soil products. The project aims to capture the journey from the environmental challenge of sargassum accumulation to its innovative conversion, showcasing the positive impact on coastal ecosystems and climate solutions. The ideal candidate will bring cinematic storytelling, strong pacing, and creative use of sound, music, and motion graphics to deliver a memorable and impactful short film.

Deliverables

  • Produce a two-minute cinematic impact film with a documentary approach
  • Develop a narrative arc that clearly communicates the environmental challenge, collection, transformation, and resulting benefits
  • Integrate high-quality visuals, sound design, and music to enhance storytelling
  • Apply restrained, effective motion graphics to support key points
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals
  • Deliver final film in required formats for digital distribution

Requirements

  • Proven experience in documentary or impact filmmaking, with a strong portfolio of short films
  • Advanced video editing skills using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Expertise in sound design and music selection to drive narrative and emotion
  • Ability to create and integrate subtle motion graphics
  • Strong storytelling and pacing abilities, with a focus on environmental or social impact themes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with environmental or nonprofit organizations is a plus
