Join a dynamic roster as a freelance Video Editor specializing in documentary-style and commercial content for political, advocacy, and branded projects. You will work on two- to three-minute, interview-driven pieces, collaborating closely with creative briefs, transcripts, and reference materials. Projects typically involve editing 60 to 90 minutes of interview footage, integrating b-roll and archival content, and delivering polished narratives under tight deadlines. The role requires a keen eye for storytelling, technical proficiency with 4K cinema-camera footage, and the ability to adapt edits for various formats, including vertical social cutdowns. This is an urgent opportunity with a fast turnaround of 2 to 4 days per project and the potential for ongoing assignments.
Responsibilities
- Select and organize interview, b-roll, and archival footage to build compelling narratives
- Complete picture edits, ensuring clarity and engagement
- Color correct and grade log footage for a professional finish
- Clean and mix audio tracks for clarity and consistency
- Source and integrate appropriate music
- Create basic motion graphics as needed
- Deliver final edits in specified formats, including vertical social cutdowns for social media
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and adhere to deadlines
- Work comfortably with political and advocacy content

Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience editing interview-led documentary and commercial content
- Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve preferred; Adobe Premiere also acceptable
- Strong storytelling skills and attention to narrative structure
- Experience working with 4K media and cinema-camera footage
- Ability to color grade and mix audio to a professional standard
- Familiarity with basic motion graphics creation
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently and meeting tight deadlines
- Willingness to work on political and advocacy projects
- Availability for quick project turnarounds (2–4 days)
- Portfolio or examples of relevant work required
