Role Description

The Freelance Videographer and Commercial Content Creator will capture and produce video content for commercial projects, including promotional videos, client testimonials, social media content, and internal communications. This contract role is hybrid, with work primarily based in the West Midlands and some tasks, such as editing and pre-production planning, completed from home.

  • Planning shoots with stakeholders
  • Operating cameras and lighting equipment on location
  • Recording high-quality video and audio
  • Overseeing basic editing and post-production workflows to deliver polished content
  • Collaborating with clients and internal contacts to understand project goals
  • Translating briefs into visual concepts
  • Managing timelines to meet agreed deadlines
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Ensuring footage is organized and backed up
  • Adhering to brand guidelines and agreed technical standards

Qualifications

  • Strong Video Production skills, including planning, shooting, and overseeing basic post-production workflows.
  • Solid Camera Operation and handling skills, with the ability to work with different camera systems and settings.
  • Practical Lighting skills, including setting up and adjusting lighting to suit indoor and outdoor commercial environments.
  • Hands-on experience in shooting video, with a portfolio demonstrating commercial, promotional, or branded content work.
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and basic sound recording is beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret briefs, communicate clearly with clients, and work independently to manage schedules and deliverables is important.
  • Access to reliable video, audio, and lighting equipment and the ability to travel within the West Midlands is preferred.
  • Prior experience in commercial videography, marketing content creation, or related creative media roles is an advantage.
